TASTY, QUICK AND EASY CAMPING MEALS !

Could the brands below be the perfect meals for short term or long term camping needs?

For years I’ve been packing lots of food requiring lots of cooler/refrigerator space that took an hour or more of me and Carols time to prepare and then even longer to clean up. To make matters worse, I ended up with excess food to bring back home and even some waste.

For over 8 years, members of Jeep Expeditions have looked for the easy and fast way to prepare meals. Food that doesn't require any or minimal refrigeration, takes little time to prepare, cooks up fast and just as important, takes little or no effort to clean up. Oh one more thing, it has to taste good too!

The foods brands below are just a few of what our members take with them on trips.

See what we think of the brands and varieties we have tried. New reviews will be added as we get new product to test and review.

If you have any comments you can send them to: info@JeepExpeditions.org

The Final Word

My future camping trips will feature as many "EASY" meals as I can plan in advance. Variety is the key to not getting tired of the same old thing. If it doesn't need refrigeration, is easy to prepare and has little or no clean up then you can bet that item will be at the top of my list of food items. One thing NOT on my menu is Road Kill !

Oh yes, one more thing. The pictures on the label are like the pictures you see in any ad for any food, it always looks perfect. I have not found a any food item yet that looks like the picture on the container or in ads, but a few have been close. Some of the colors may not be perfect in my pictures as changes in lighting and angles and even differences in the white balance of the camera can cause a change in the actual color. Don't let any picture deter you, look at the picture on the box, and think of how tasty its' going to be and you be the judge. Trust me, if it looks bad I will tell you but if I don't, you can count on a good looking tasty dinner when you pull off the plastic film cover.

As for where to buy your food, I buy my typcial consumer brands (Hormel, Campbells, SPAM, etc) at Walmart Neighborhood Markets or Walmart SuperCenters. They have good selections (selections may differ from store to store) and there prices are the best around. Other items might be available at specialty retail or online stores. If that is the case I have tried to list those sources. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
