MAKE & TAKE   -
               EGGS & CHEESE & BACON/HAM MUFFINS

Eggs & Cheese & Ham/Bacon Muffins

Who doesn't like those breakfast sandwiches made famous by the fast food giant with the golden arches. They just happen to be one of my favorite “Make & Takes” for camping. For camping it’s 100% home made in just a few minutes by boiling your bags on your camp stove without the time and effort which makes this breakfast almost perfect.

                                                                          Cooking Instructions
  • Fry your eggs using round forms if you have them, if not form them into a circle or square as they cook.
  • Place cooked eggs onto a plate and regrigerate until cool
  • Fry your bacon, ham or sausage patty
  • You can also use sliced baked/cooked ham without frying
  • Place cooked meat onto a plate and regrigerate until cool
  • Get your Vacuum Sealer and put one egg and a portion of bacon, ham or sausage patty into each bag as shown with a thin pat of butter then seal using the “Gentle-Moist” setting then put into Freezer until you are ready to leave on your trip.

Preparation to take from home kitchen to Camp Kitchen
  • Take your frozen meals directly from your freezer & put in your camp cooler w/ ice. Keep cold until ready to use
  • Your Egg Muffins will be fine if they thaw out and stays cold in ice or icy water for several days until ready to use . Your vacuum sealed bags should be water proof but to be safe put them in another water tight container if possible

                                            Reheating at Camp
  • In a 2 gallon pot bring 1 1/2 gallons of water to a boil
  • Insert your sealed bags of Eggs & Meat into the water
  • Boil for 10 to 15 minutes until hot
  • Prepare your choice of bread (English Muffins, Rolls, etc) by toasting if you prefer
  • Removed hot bags from pot with tongs
  • Put a slice of cheese on each muffin or roll
  • Cut open the bags and place eggs and meat on top of cheese.
  • Put the "top" part of your bread on your breakfast sandwich and ENJOY!
