|
Mexico, clean beaches, pristine deserts, cerveza and ceviche !
Our 2nd trip to Mexico, 4 days along the coastline of the Sea of Cortez from El Gulfo to Rocky Point and a crossing of the Great Dunes of the Altar Desert with the Rocky Point Jeep Club.
This the Jeep Expeditions, Sea of Cortez II, Mexico trip. Our 1st trip earlier this year was named by some as the best and most fun trip they had taken with the group yet. This trip promises to be more of the same !
THIS IS A JEEP ONLY EVENT LIMITED TO MEMBERS OF THE JEEP EXPEDITIONS GROUP!
Our 2nd International trip and another 4 day off-road trip from the Jeep Expeditions Group set for September 26th-29th, 2008.
Our trip will leave the Phoenix Area early Friday morning and head to Yuma. at night for a head start. Final meeting spot will be in Yuma at 9:30am from where we will proceed to the border town of San Luis. We will enter Mexico and then take MX Hwy 2 to Sonoran Hwy 40 to the port town of El Gulfo. In El Gulfo we will pick up some fresh seafood such as shrimp and clams for a good old fashioned clam bake Friday night along the Gulf of California where the plan is to meet up in Rocky Point with the Rocky Point Jeepers.
Camping at night along the coast of the Gulf of California/Sea of Cortez near Rocky Point/Puerto Penasco, Mexico.
Day two and three will take us along the shoreline of the Gulf of California/Sea of Cortez with at least one more night of camping on Saturday and we will play on the coastline, in sand dunes and if you want, even in mud.
Sunday night will put us in Puerto Penasco/Rocky Point by evening have a nice "bowl" of fresh Ceviche (Mexican shrimp cocktail) and a good Mexican dinner or perhaps a BBQ at the hotel and then downtown. We will plan on a hotel stay in Rocky Point Sunday or optional camping.
Monday will be an optional day for a visit to the scenic Pinacte National Park (see description below), stick around Rocky Point and do your own thing or just head back home again.
This trip is absolutely limited to the 1st 25 Jeeps to join this group. Jeep 26 and above will be alternates.
Pictures of this trip will be posted with a link to the gallery after completion along with our trip report
